Beginning November 15, 2005, all people with Medicare-those 65 years of age
or older, those with certain disabilities, and those with end stage renal disease, can enroll
in a new Medicare prescription drug benefit. The new program provides insurance coverage
for prescription medicines for the first time since Medicare was introduced 40 years ago.
